My job at the Archer Academy: Head of SEND & Inclusion and English teacher 

The subject I teach: English

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Poetry because I think it allows for the most freedom of thought and interpretation.

Two top facts about me:

  1. I support Liverpool football team

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: a gardener

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: teaching Year 11 for the first time and helping them prepare for their GCSEs.

My message to our new Year 7s: starting at secondary school can be a scary time for anyone. Remember – others might feel a bit scared, too!


Name: Ms Brami 

My job at the Archer Academy: Head of Vocational Curriculum

The subject I teach: Psychology, Health and Social Care, Child Development, Citizenship

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Each subject that I teach incorporates discussions and debates around issues and factors that affect human development as well as issues facing society at the moment: it’s great to link what I teach in the classroom to the world outside it and I think it’s a very valuable thing for my students. 

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I love travelling with my family and my plan is that in my lifetime I will try to visit all seven continents. 
  1. I enjoy cooking and trying new foods from around the world

If I wasn’t a teacher, I would be: Educational Psychologist. 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Developing our Vocational Curriculum further by offering a range of qualifications to meet the needs of our learners. My ambition is to make sure that everyone achieves and exceeds their goals and ambitions.  

My message to our new Year 7s: Be open-minded, enthusiastic and hardworking: be yourself and make the most of every opportunity that is given to you. If you are stuck or worried about something, never be afraid


Name: Mrs Quilley

My job at the Archer Academy: Lead Learning Mentor

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Seeing my students on a 1-1 basis to enable us to break down and work through a problem in a solution focussed way, building confidence and self-esteem.

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I used to be a hairdresser in a top London salon.
  1. I have been white water rafting down the Zambezi River.

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Meeting children from my community and helping them fulfil their potential.

My message to our new Year 7s: I’m really excited to meet you all. We have so many exciting opportunities here at the Archer Academy for you to get involved in.

I am always here for everybody… A problem shared is a problem halved!


Name: Ms Townley

My job at the Archer Academy: Special Educational Needs Administrator.

This means that I try to help everyone in the SEND department with whatever needs doing, which in turn supports the teaching staff and you, the student. 

Two top facts about me: 

  1. Over the years I have enjoyed a variety of different jobs including TV presenting, being a lifeguard in America and becoming a Dyslexia Specialist Teacher.
  1. I love rugby union and used to work for a Premiership rugby club in London

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Being a part of the most amazing group of young people – both students and staff – and introducing everyone to all the wonders that come with being a member of the Archer community. 

My message to our new Year 7s: I can’t wait to meet you. There is SO much to try out and so many opportunities at the Archer Academy that you will never be bored. Try everything and above all…… ENJOY YOURSELF!!!


Name: Miss Le 

My job at the Archer Academy: PE Teacher / Lead Practitioner for Physical and Sensory Needs 

The subject I will teach: I will be teaching Physical Education

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Leading on the girls football team. I have played competitive sport from a young age and now I am able to share this passion with you and hopefully we can win some medals together.

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I have coached ‘soccer’ in America- Pennsylvania.
  2. Enjoy trying new sports.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: A court stenographer 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: I am a huge outdoors fan and I am very much looking forward to sharing the experiences you gain on all your residential trips, like Kingswood.

My message to our new Year 7s: LEARN, LIVE AND LAUGH (lots).


Name: Ms Ng 

My job at the Archer Academy: Teaching Assistant

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I went scuba diving off the coast of Scotland and watched puffins jiggling on the rocks.
  2. I built cardboard models of houses.

My message to our new Year 7s: A very warm welcome, Year 7s! I am excited to meet you and look forward to working together in the new academic year.


Name: Ms Felic 

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: I mostly enjoy teaching Algebra in Mathematics 

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I joined the Archer team in the first year and have had the opportunity to support many students from their transition day until they complete their GCSEs.
  1. After my back injury I thought that I would not be able to enjoy nature as much as I did in the past but where there is a will there is a way. I overcame the injury and now I am able to walk and enjoy sunrise but also to run for miles or swim.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: working in tourism 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Meeting our enthusiastic new year 7 students, spreading love for mathematics and supporting our new students in the classrooms and corridors of school. 

My message to our new Year 7s: Believe in yourself and enjoy your new adventure. “The beautiful thing about knowledge is that no one can take it away from you.” Keep learning.


Name: Mrs Lowrie

My job at the Archer Academy: Lead Practitioner for Cognition and Learning

As part of the SEND department I support students, including those whose first language isn’t English.  

Two top facts about me:

  1. I have lived and worked in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland (next step Wales?).
  2. My favourite job was working on a ship when it was based in Spain. The ship was a travelling bookshop and I was on the reception desk.

What am I most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Meeting the new Year 7s. The school is full of great people (both students and staff) and I am looking forward to seeing some new faces joining our Archer community.

My message to our new Year 7s: Be yourself, be considerate of others and enjoy everything that the Archer has to offer. Don’t be afraid of new challenges. Someone is always there to help you, so don’t worry … just ask.

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: I enjoy the one to one work I do with students.  I like to build a good relationship with students and parents.

  1. I have done the moon walk (26 miles over night) six times

My job at the Archer Academy: SEN/Maths Teaching Assistant 

The subject I will teach: Mathematics because it is both fun and challenging. It gives you a great sense of achievement when you can solve a hard problem or at least problems that you have trouble with.

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I love travelling and once spent six months in Japan.
  1. I also love singing and as a teenager I was a member of a band.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: A secret hotel inspector because I love travelling and I could do it for free!!! 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Helping year 11 students to achieve better maths grades in their GCSE exams.

My message to our new Year 7s: The move from primary to secondary school may be a bit scary but Archer is a great place where you can make friends and learn new things, especially through our fantastic enrichment programme.

My job at the Archer Academy:

I am a Teaching Assistant (TA) it is my job to support students in with social, physical and academic needs. 

Two top facts about me:

  1. I am Irish and have lived in London almost 3 years.
  1. I have worked in different roles and countries. I have taught English in Spain, been a call centre manager, youth worker, Montessori teacher, Irish language summer camp teacher and PA for people with additional needs. 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: I am looking forward to supporting and make more memories with the current Archer community.  I’m also really looking forward to meeting all of the new year 7 students.

My message to our new Year 7s: Welcome to the Archer Academy!! Thank you for sharing the next chapter of your lives with us.

Be open to experiences, humble in success, kind to others and to yourself, but most of all be happy, make friendships and memories worth sharing in the chapters that follow. If you need support ask for it because this is a school full of people who want to help you succeed.

My job at the Archer Academy: I am a learning mentor

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: I really enjoy seeing my students on a weekly basis overcoming difficult situations and building confidence and strengths. When not mentoring I enjoy mathematics the most!

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I absolutely love music!
  2. Being a qualified lifeguard was a challenge but I did it!

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: Travelling the world 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: I am looking forward to meeting the new year 7 students, ensuring they settle in very comfortably whilst positively approaching all challenges and building confidence. I am also looking forward to the team building at Kingswood and throughout the year, and helping year 7 coming out on top!

My message to our new Year 7s: Have fun and enjoy yourself! Don’t be afraid to try new things or ask any questions, and do your best to tackle what you thought you could not do. Turn your can’t into can and your dreams into plans!
