I am delighted to welcome you to the Archer Academy. We are currently experiencing quite unusual times, but I do hope that you and your families are keeping safe and doing well. I for one am very much looking forward to things getting back to normal, which I hope will be soon.
In September, you will join our school as our class of 2021. In the run up to your official start there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get to know your new school better. These start here on the VIP Zone, where you will ‘e-meet’ your new peers, teachers and also uncover more about subjects at the Archer Academy; from core subjects like English and maths to those more bespoke to our school such as thematic learning and creative and performing arts.
I’m sure that you are very excited, however, I know that moving to secondary school can also seem quite daunting. I want you to know that my door will always be open to you. Your new teachers, tutors and I are going to do absolutely everything that we can to make sure that you have a truly wonderful start to your secondary school experience. This will be my fifth year at the Archer and I have very much enjoyed being part of our community. I am confident that you will too and I look forward to supporting you on the next part of your Archer journey.
Soon you will meet Milo and follow his journey through The Phantom Tollbooth. I won’t give too much about the book away, but I do want to leave you with a quote that I hope will inspire you: ‘many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible.’
With that in mind, do enjoy exploring the VIP Zone. Make sure that you get involved with our weekly quizzes even if they do look a little challenging at first. I will be closely monitoring your achievements on the Honour Roll and look forward to awarding lots of merits!
Very best wishes,
Head of Year 7
