If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: Running my own stables, I have a passion for horses!

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy:I am looking forward to seeing our school community flourish and all students getting to utilise the amazing sports facilities and clubs at The Archer Academy.

My message to our new Year 7s: Rest up over the summer and start to prepare for the next chapter of your school life at The Archer Academy!

My job at the Archer Academy: Head of Year 10 

The subject I will teach: Physical Education (I amalso the Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator)

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching is: I really enjoy teaching team sports, particularly Rugby and Basketball. Rugby is a team sport which requires total commitment, both physically and mentally. It also promotes discipline and hard work. 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: I am most looking forward to supporting the Year 8 students and their families with Year 8, then Year 9… and so on! 

Two top facts about me:

  1. I have a twin brother who is 12 minutes younger than me.
  2. I played professional football until the age of 18.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: a Personal Trainer 

My message to our new Year 7s: Work Hard. Effort is the foundation on which everything else is built, this is why nobody will ever ask you to give anything more than your very best. Also, manners cost nothing.

My job at the Archer Academy: PE Teacher

 

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: I really enjoy the sports we deliver in KS3, it provides pupils with an opportunity to work together, learn something new and get fit!

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I enjoy keeping fit and participating in sport.
  2. I used to swim competitively for the Welsh national team.

 

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: I really enjoy working with people in a sporting environment. Therefore, if I wasn’t a teacher I would have liked to be either a sports psychologist or a sports physio. 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: Welcoming the new Year 7’s to Archer and enabling all pupils to have a broader experience of PE.

My message to our new Year 7s: Welcoming you all to the Archer and hoping that the majority of new pupils get involved with the many sports clubs we have on offer.

My job at the Archer Academy: Head of PE

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Athletics! Since I was a student myself, I have always enjoyed taking part in Athletics and watching the Olympics. Now, I get to teach a variety of athletics events and witness students break records! What makes it better is Athletics takes place in the summer term.

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I am a Tottenham Hotspur supporter.
  2. I took part in a race 20 miles long, consisting of 200 obstacles. It took me 3 hours 47 minutes.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: A personal trainer or a professional footballer 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: As always, I am looking forward to an action packed fixture list for the Archer Academy students to compete in. The aim being to fill our trophy cabinet.

My message to our new Year 7s: “You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” – Dr Seuss

My job at the Archer Academy: PE Teacher / Lead Practitioner for Physical and Sensory Needs 

The subject I will teach: Physical Education

The area of my subject I most enjoy teaching: Leading on Girls Football at The Archer Academy School. I can’t wait to see you all at our extra-curricular clubs!

Two top facts about me: 

  1. I have coached ‘soccer’ in America- Pennsylvania.
  2. I love trying new sports.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be: A court stenographer. 

What I am most looking forward to this year at the Archer Academy: I am a huge outdoors fan and I am very much looking forward to sharing the experiences you gain on all your residential trips, like Kingswood.

My message to our new Year 7s: LEARN, LIVE AND LAUGH (lots).
