I am delighted to welcome you to the Archer Academy. I hope that you are enjoying the last term in your primary school and are looking forward to the year ahead. I’m sure that you are very excited, however, I know that it can also seem quite daunting moving to secondary school and I want to let you know that my door will always be open to you. Your new teachers, tutors and I are going to do absolutely everything that we can to make sure that you have a truly wonderful start to your secondary school experience. This will be my fourth year at Archer, I have very much enjoyed my first three years here and I am confident that you will too!
I have been Head of Year 7 for the past three years, and have really enjoyed helping new students settle in to Archer life. My role is to support and guide you throughout your first year at the Archer Academy and ensure that you enjoy learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
There is an extensive list of extra-curricular activities available to you at the Archer Academy through our exciting Enrichment opportunities and through extra-curricular clubs. My biggest tip for you would be to get involved in as many activities as you can. It’s a great way to start making friends with people who have similar interests to you.
For the meantime, enjoy exploring the VIP Zone and make sure that you get involved in our weekly challenges so that I can start awarding merit points!
I’ll leave you with a few of my favourite books that I would recommend for you to enjoy over the summer holidays.
